Welcome to the Confirel showrooms in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, a company dedicated to the rural development of Cambodia and the promotion of Khmer heritage and gastronomy.

Founded in 2001 by Dr Hay Ly Eang, a doctor of pharmacy and phytotherapy, Confirel is at the leading edge of agrobiology in Cambodia. Its mission is to promote authentic Khmer products and contribute to the Kingdom's rural development.

Confirel makes the most of the country's exceptional natural heritage by adhering to the principles of the circular economy and sustainable agriculture. By combining ancestral knowledge with innovation, Confirel has developed four product ranges that have proved successful on the international gourmet and health food markets.

Thnot: The sweetness of Cambodia

For centuries, the palm sugar tree, or ‘thnot’ in Khmer, has been a national treasure. The Thnot range of sugars and confectionery is produced from the sap of the palm flower harvested by a cooperative of some 300 producers in the PGI zone of Kampong Speu. Certified organic by Ecocert International, unrefined Thnot sugar has won international recognition for its unique caramelised flavour, bright orange colour and low glycemic index. From powder to syrup to paste, Thnot sugar brings out the best in drinks, pastries and cooking thanks to its exceptional quality.

With this sugar, Confirel has created a range of sweets and chocolates made exclusively from Cambodian raw materials: exotic fruit sweets with Kampot pepper; mango rolls; dried mango and bananas; chocolate bars and sweets, etc.

Kirum: The king of peppers and a range of condiments

Kampot pepper has been awarded a PGI (protected geographical indication) and is recognised by top international chefs for its complex flavour, which is both spicy and fruity. Confirel's Kirum range includes certified organic black, red and white Kampot pepper.

Condiments, such as Kampot pepper sauce and palm vinegar, are made from the finest sustainably sourced ingredients, bringing the exquisite flavours of Cambodia to every dish.

 Kirum Prahok Powder, the soul of Khmer gastronomy in your kitchen

In 2023, Confirel enhanced its range of Kirum condiments with the first Prahok Powder produced in Cambodia. Prahok, a fermented fish paste, is the soul of Khmer cuisine. Reduced to a powder by Confirel to adapt it to modern cooking, Kirum Prahok brings a unique and authentically Khmer flavour to all forms of culinary preparation, from the simplest - omelettes, salads - to the most elaborate. With its 5 flavours - Light, Regular, Strong, Kaffir Lime and Galangal, it will delight every palate.

Health and well-being: a range inspired by traditional Khmer medicine

Confirel's health and well-being range includes Kirum herbal tea with Kampot pepper inflorescence and KEM Probiotics. Each product is designed to promote well-being, with detoxifying the body, stimulating energy and aiding digestion among the health benefits.
